Li is wearing the special costume Tomoyo made for him that coordinates with the costume she made for Sakura. Tomoyo simply and beautifully explains that she had been honored to make all the costumes for Sakura that she did, and since Sakura always came back safely, Tomoyo made this matched set of costumes to make certain that Sakura and Li came back safely from their challenge with the last Clow Card.
